15 Days In Clay // September 2022

“15 Days in Clay” is a powerful, long-running project that offers adults with learning and additional needs in the Poole and Dorset area the opportunity to explore clay as a creative, expressive, and accessible medium.

Working in a professional ceramic studio, each artist is encouraged to aim high—developing not only technical skill, but their unique artistic voice. This is not art therapy or leisure, it is serious creative practice. The project nurtures confidence, and self-expression, enabling each participant to grow as an artist in their own right.

To mark 20 years of collective artistic activity, I was commissioned to create a series of portraits honouring the artists behind the work, capturing their individuality, presence, and creative energy.

Their ceramic pieces were exhibited alongside the portraits at Durlston Country Park, Swanage in April 2023, and Sandy Hill Arts, Corfe Castle in November 2023, celebrating two decades of artistic achievement, community, and collaboration.
